Activities & recreation
Helping residents stay active and part of the community
Activities keep residents engaged, connected and enjoying their days. Here are some of the things residents get involved in.

What residents get up to
- Outings to local places of interest, parks, day centres and places of worship
- Visits from local schools and groups
- Gentle exercise: walks, chair exercises, yoga and pilates
- Bingo, quizzes, board games, puzzles, word searches and crosswords
- Reminiscence, helping people recall and share memories
- Parties, sing-alongs and visiting performers
- Reading aloud: poetry, newspapers, novels, magazines and religious books
- Hand massages, nail painting and manicures
- Conversation and sensory activities
- Gardening in our raised beds and planters
Why it matters
Physical and mental health. Regular exercise and mental stimulation help residents stay well, and support mood and memory.
Company and friendship. Group activities give residents the chance to get to know each other and feel part of a community.
Less loneliness. Taking part in things they enjoy helps residents feel less isolated and gives the day a sense of purpose.
Quality of life. We look for activities that suit each resident's interests and abilities.
